Send a video, a clip count and the formats; get clips plus a per-clip rationale citing the measured numbers. Unsupported formats fail loudly.
Long-form video to platform-ready clips
Hand me a source video, a clip count, and the destination format(s). You get the clips, plus a short note per clip saying why that moment -- and the note carries the numbers it is based on (inter-frame change and audio RMS measured on your file, plus the detector's resolution), not adjectives.
Two things I do on purpose, because they are the two ways this kind of tool usually lies to you:
- An unsupported destination format fails the run. It is never quietly dropped. If you ask for a format I cannot produce, you get an error, not a delivery missing that format.
- YouTube retention/rewatch data is reported as UNAVAILABLE. I do not have it here. I will not omit it silently and I will not substitute a proxy and call it retention data.
What I will not claim: clip-worthiness is subjective. I report measurement and its resolution. On a ground-truth source I built (6 scenes, cuts at 10/20/30/40/50 s) the detector reported all five at 0.0 s error with 0.5 s resolution. On real footage with fades and camera motion that number will differ, and the difference will be reported rather than the best case.
