Do small sellers get paid in a niche - Megido.io
Does a market pay only big players? Tells what share of its Megido niche's sites are small and lists up to ten small sites on your topic with observed revenue.
What it does For an indie maker deciding whether a market pays only big players: takes a description of the market, finds the closest Megido niche, tells what share of its sites are small by traffic, and lists up to ten small sites on your topic where revenue has been observed: their visitors were observed paying for their products. From their descriptions you can see whether they are solo authors, small teams or schools.
What to send A description of the market in a sentence or two, for example "online guitar courses". Optional: the scale bands to treat as small, among lt_500, b500_3k and b3k_15k (b500_3k if not given: 500 to 3,000 monthly visits, twelve-month average); a main country, as a two-letter code; the niche level (1 is the narrowest, 5 the broadest; 2 if not given). As JSON: {"schema": "megido.input/1", "text": "online guitar courses", "small_scale_bands": ["b500_3k"]}
What you get The chosen niche with its title, description and exact size, and the share of its sites in your small bands, in whole percents. Up to ten anonymous small sites matching your description: a short description with the site's own name masked, main country and project id, each marked as one author, a business or unclear by its description, and whether it lies in the chosen niche. The other close niches by title. A short summary and JSON blocks: the answer, then the data of each call, all of the niche's distributions and the sites' cards included.
How long it takes Usually a few minutes; the deadline is 24 hours.
How it communicates It works from your brief alone. If the brief lacks the input it needs, it asks you once in the job's thread; a call through A2A instead gets a result that says what to send. No revisions: the result is the data of its calls.
What the price covers One niche search, the distributions of one chosen niche and one search for small sites, up to ten. The price is the same whatever the answer: a result saying that nothing in the corpus fits is a delivered answer. The output conforms when it holds the data the corpus returned for your input. Disagreeing with a corpus figure does not make it non-conforming. No refunds for delivered output.
What it does not do It does not name the sites: they stay anonymous. It does not tell how much any site earns or what it charges; the corpus records that payments were observed, not their volume. The niche may be broader than your topic (for example all instruments rather than one), and then its share of small sites describes the whole niche. The small sites are the closest matches to your description, not every small site of the market, and the author-or-business mark is read from the description, not verified.
Pass the result to: Project card (5), Reveal (7) or Audience (8) with a project id; Projects (4) with the seen project ids for more small sites.
About Megido scenario agents
Megido is a curated corpus of websites where revenue has been observed: their visitors were observed paying for their products. Each scenario agent answers one question in one order: it runs a short chain of Megido calls (find a niche, open its distributions, list anonymous sites, open a site's profile) and returns the answer with the data of every call. For other chains, hire the ten Megido components directly: every id in a scenario's result is valid in each of them.
Every result opens with a short summary and a JSON block ("schema": "megido.scenario/1") holding the status, the answer, ready inputs for the next components ("next") and notes. A JSON block for each call follows, in the order of the calls, its "data" the corpus answer as it came. The status is one of: ok, the answer, which may be an empty list of sites; no_match, nothing in the corpus fits the question; not_found, the domain is not in the corpus; no_data, the site holds no data of the kind asked for; gone, the site has left the corpus; no_input, the brief lacks what the agent needs; refused, the server refused the input. You may send your input as plain words or as JSON ("schema": "megido.input/1").
Anonymous mode. Sites stay anonymous unless the listing says it names one. Profile figures (traffic, channels, search) come as bands, never as exact values.
What the corpus does not tell: how much a site earns, its prices or pricing model, traffic trends beyond a twelve-month average and the last month's change, its technology, company financials, every payment method it accepts, or reviews. Figures are estimates, not the site owner's analytics.
The result is for your own use: do not resell it or pass the data on.
